Token number
The Token number is also known as the coupon number or acknowledgement code and is used to keep track of the status of a PAN card application. These numbers are generally found in websites related to NSDL and UTI and also in authorised agent offices of these entities. Below is a link to check the status of your PAN card application. You can also refer to the card itself to see if it has been approved or rejected.

Status of application
A person can easily check the status of his PAN card application by visiting TIN-NSDL website. You can apply for a new PAN or update an existing one. All you need to apply for a new PAN is your 15-digit acknowledgment number, full name and date of birth. After filling out the application form, you will be directed to a page where you can check the status of your application.
You can also check the status of your application through SMS. If you have applied online, you can send a text message to 57575. It will give you a detailed update on the status of your application. To track the status of your PAN application by phone, you can also call the TIN call center and provide the 15-digit acknowledgement number. However, the fastest way to track the status of your PAN application is to use the online service.
You can also check the status of your PAN application through SMS. The National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) is the agency that manages PAN applications. If you do not receive an email, you can text “Status of application of PAN card” to 3030. The SMS should include your 15-digit acknowledgment number. Steps to apply
If you’re an Indian citizen and you’re looking to apply for your PAN card token number, here are some simple steps. First, visit TIN-NSDL’s PAN page. There, you’ll find a link to fill out the application form. Once there, you’ll fill out the required details and enter a CAPTCHA code. This will provide you with your token number.
Next, you’ll need to fill out the Form 49AA, if you’re a foreigner. You’ll need to submit your application along with self-attested copies of your documents. Once your application has been received, the Assessing Officer will cross-check your details against those of current PAN card holders in the central database. Once the application has been processed, you’ll receive your PAN card token number. The four-character PAN token number indicates what type of taxpayer you are.
After completing the application form, you’ll need to provide your Aadhaar number and your parents’ names. You can choose to use your mother’s name if you’d like. Once you find the number, you must enter the PAN details and follow the instructions. Then, you will have to wait for about seven days while the bank seeds your PAN to your bank account. This process will take some time, but is completely free of charge and secure.
The income tax department issued a public advisory in February 2019 advising taxpayers to link their PAN to their bank account. Banks may request for an address proof and a passport. The aims behind this new procedure are to ensure that the government does not facilitate money laundering. The income tax department has also announced that all refunds will be processed online starting from 1 March 2019, which means that the old procedure of sending refund cheques will cease.
